Oats, peas, beans and barley grow
Oats, peas, beans and barley grow
Can you or I or anyone know
How oats, peas, beans and barley grow
Karen, Sue and Charley grow
Horses teeth and my big toe
Can you or I or anyone know
'Bout all the things that grow and grow
Oats, peas, beans....
Why should I eat them? I am not a horse.
Oats, peas, beans...
Can you or I or anyone know how oats, peas, beans and barley grow.

Old Farmer Cutty

It all began when a mean old man
Farm Inspector Smythe raised the alarm
The place is one big mess, how am I to even guess
How many of each kinda critter is on your farm?
Well, Old Farmer Cutty, was a little bit nutty
He gathered up his critters with a laugh
No problem he said, I’ll just go to the shed
And I will make the world’s biggest graph
Old Farmer Cutty was a little bit nutty
Gathered up his critters with a laugh
He stood one cow on top of another (moo!)
One horse on top of his brother (neigh!)
Old Farmer Cutty made the world’s biggest graph
He put the pigs in a big pink pile (snort, snort!)
A pile of hens you could see for a mile (bawk, bawk!)
One cow on top of another (moo!)...etc.
Old Farmer Cutty was a little bit nutty
Gathered up his critters with a laugh
Goats were piled up in a heap (bleet!)
Next to a mound of sheep (baa!)
Pigs in a big pink pile (snort, snort!)... etc.
Old Farmer Cutty was a little bit nutty
Gathered up his critters with a laugh
Three dogs in a furry stack (woof woof!)
Ten ducks in pile quack quack (quack quack!)
Goats piled up in a heap (bleet!)...etc.
Well Inspector Smythe said, “Never in my life
Have I seen a graph towering over my head.
Your farm’s ok, but after today
Just make me graph on a piece of paper instead!”
Round 'n round Old Joe Clarke
Round n' round I say
Round 'n round Old Joe Clarke
I ain't got long to stay
Old Joe Clarke he had a house
Sixteen stories high
Every story in that house
Was filled with chicken pie
Round...
Old Joe Clarke he had a dog
As blind as he could be
Chased a redbug round a stump
A racoon up a hollow tree
Round...
Fly around Old Joe Clarke
Fly around I'm gone
Fly around Old Joe Clarke
With the golden slippers on
Well I went down to Old Joe's House
Never been there before
He slept on the feather bed
And I slept on the floor
Roll around Old Joe Clarke
Sail away and gone
Roll around Old Joe Clarke
Roll around Old Joe Clarke
With the golden slippers on
If you see that girl of mine
Tell her if you can
Before she goes to make her bread
To wash those dirty hands
Roll, roll Old Joe Clarke
Roll, roll I say
Roll, roll Old Joe Clarke
You better be gettin' away
Round...
When I was a little boy
I used to play in ashes
Now I am a great big boy
Wearin' Dad's moustaches
Round...
Round...
Old Joe Clarke he had a house
Sixteen stories high
Every story in that house
Was filled with chicken pie
Now old King Cole was a merry old soul
And a merry old soul was he.
He called for his pipe and he called for his bowl
And he called for his fiddlers three.
And every fiddler had a fine fiddle
And every fiddler had a fine fiddle
And a very fine fiddle, yes a fiddler's fiddle
Oh a very fine fiddle had he.

1...and then 11, so many steps to climb
12... 21 it is a crime
22... 37 almost there, oh my, thank heaven
38... 40 glory be
41... 44 I see our apartment door
45, 46, 47 three to go
48, 49, 50 wherever did I put my key?
I left it downstairs, oh NO!
I'm living on the fifth floor, 50 steps up to our door
The fifth floor. I can't take it anymore
Living on the fifth floor
2... 10 and I'm taking stairs two at a time
12... 18
20, 22, 24 I'll be there faster than before
26, 28 I'm a stair climbing machine
30...38 just 12 more
40, 42, 44 oh, NO!
46, 48, 50 I think that I am gonna die
I forgot to get the mail, back down I go
5 10 I'm going up again,
Jumping up 5 stairs at a time
15 20 25 very soon I will arrive
It's really not so bad if you do it right
30 35 40 45 almost there and I am still alive
50 I have made it once again
Today I'll climb not one more stair. Go back down? I don't care!
'Cause I'm taking the elevator next time, my friend

Over and under, Up and down. Inside and outside and all around
Every woman every man, every animal and child
Livin' in the city or in the jungle wild
Fills their lungs with life fills their lungs with air
I've gotta get me some, but can you tell me where?
Yes, I can it's over and under
There's water in the bathtub and water in the sea
Some say there's water in the air and even inside me
Is it true can you tell me, and please, child, tell me true
Can you tell me where the water is, I'm counting upon you
Yes, I can it's over and under
Take it over take it under take it up and down
Take it in take it out take it upside down
Make a smile flip it over and you got a frown
Flip it over again and spread it around
Over and under
There's somewhere this is leading me, but you already knew
It's bigger than the air we breathe, more than the ocean, blue
Can you tell me now, my child, have you taken every clue
Can you guess how much it is that I am loving you?

Over and under, up and down
Inside and outside, all around
My favourite book, my favourite book, I lost it somehow
Well I know who will have a clue to find it for me now
Hey, Mom, have you seen it?
Did you clean it off my floor?
No, I don’t know where it is
You’d better look around some more
My favourite book, my favourite book, I lost it somehow
My sister Su will have a clue to find it for me now
Hey Su, did you see it? Did it go right out that door?
No, I don’t know where it is
You’d better look around some more
Looking over, looking under, looking all around
Above and below ‘til the book is found
Looking near looking far looking in and out
I had a look, I found my book
Come on and give a shout
My favourite book, my favourite book
Was right here on my bed
With my flashlight I can read all night
“No way!” What’s that he said?
It’s time to sleep, please brush your teeth
And… hey, where did you go?
You can’t see where I am and you will never know!
Unless you look over and under...
