The Children's Group Adds Exciting
New Classics To Its Award-Winning Repertoire

The Children's Group, long recognized as leaders in presenting high-quality entertainment for children of all ages, is pleased to announce the August 2000 release of PigMania and GoldiRocks - the first recordings in the new Once Upon A Time series. Available in CD or cassette, Once Upon A Time presents up-to-date, high-energy musical adaptations of classic children's stories; a delightful blend of classic characters, lively sound effects and singable songs.

Featuring Juno Award-winning children's entertainers, Judy & David, PigMania and GoldiRocks retell the best-loved stories of "The Three Little Pigs" and "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" with lively, upbeat and downright musical fun. The rich blend of songs spans the musical spectrum from pop to calypso, from klezmer to rock 'n roll, from Gilbert and Sullivan to country and back again - all with a generous serving of Judy & David's infectious humor.

The added production of enhanced CDs in the Once Upon A Time series provides interactive games, activities and irresistible entertainment value to captivate the imaginations of children of all ages. The stories' characters come to life on the computer screen and guide users through song lyrics, printable coloring book pages, fun-and-games jigsaw puzzles, a bonus music video and more.

In PigMania, a sax-wielding Mama Pig tells her three not-so-little pigs, Frankie, Woody and Brainella, that it's time to leave home and start a life of their own. Whiz-kid sister pig, Brainella, gets working right away on her solid, brick home, but her brothers, Frankie and Woody, have other ideas. They embark on a summer of surfing, parties and "Swiney and the Squeelers" concerts - leaving little time before winter to build their homes. A sixties-throw-back Big Bad Wolf grooves onto the scene, BBQ sauce in hand, and Woody and Frankie learn a valuable lesson about work and play...

GoldiRocks plays her electric guitar so loud and so often that she is constantly in trouble with her family and friends. When her mother threatens to take her guitar away for a day, Goldi runs away and soon finds herself scared and lost in the forest. Goldi meets an opera-loving owl who has little use for rock n' roll, but nevertheless helps her find a tiny log cabin to spend the night.

Goldi begins to get suspicious about the absent owners when a search for food turns up porridge, Porridge Helper and Porridge Snack Squares and not much else. Early the next morning a calypso-singing family of bears arrives home to find the little girl asleep in their cabin. Goldi quickly discovers there's more to life than rock 'n roll…

The August 1, 2000 release of PigMania and GoldiRocks is marketed by The Children's Group - a company known for its best-loved and award-winning Classical Kids tales and The Mozart Effect Music for Children/Music for Babies series. The Children's Group recordings are distributed by Atlantic Records/WEA in the U.S. and Warner Music in Canada.
