Vancouver, Canada... The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences has announced that international recording artists, Judy & David, have won the Juno award for Best Children's Recording for their newest release, Livin' In a Shoe.
Livin' In a Shoe, now available in record stores or through the JudyandDavid.com web site, marks a new peak for the couple. "We're very proud of this album. It's our first project with completely original songs. And, as some of our very patient fans can tell you, it was a long time in coming," David recalls.
Judy explains, "We had been busy with our television special and concert tours and hadn't put out a new album in a while. We were getting lots of comments from parents saying 'Help! We need a new tape for the car or we're going to go nuts!' ...We took a little extra time getting this album just right, but now that it's done, we're glad that we did. We tried to put in a little something for everyone, from good-old-fashioned sing-along songs to some very parent-friendly tracks."
Critical reaction to the new CD has been unprecedented for the duo. Billboard called the recording "one of the freshest, most inventive kids' albums out there." Child magazine has hailed the recording as one of the 10 best in North America for 1997. Family Fun puns that it's the "perfect fit for any family music collection."
Judy & David are currently at work on their next album and on an exciting new television series set to begin broadcast this fall.
